It seems that every year, stores have been opening up earlier and earlier for customers to get those insane Black Friday deals. Some stores are even bold enough to open up for customers starting on Thanksgiving Day! However, there are some stores (even our favorite DIY stores!) putting their foot down and staying closed on this iconic holiday.
Target
Target announced early in the year that its stores would be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but that doesn’t mean shoppers will miss out on seasonal sales. The Target Black Friday deals have already begun, according to an October statement. Shop deals now until November 26.
The Home Depot
The Home Depot is getting ready for Black Friday crazy-ness with a landing page on their site. With a long list of FAQ’s and a few pointers on why Home Depot is the best place to shop for Black Friday, this store is getting shoppers ready for the great deals ahead. The Home Depot will, however, be closed for Thanksgiving Day.
Lowe’s
Lowe’s may be closed on Thanksgiving, but they’re not messing around when it comes to sales. The Black Friday Deals page on the Lowe’s website entices people to take advantage of the deals now, and to be mentally ready for the incredible Lowe’s Black Friday deals to come.
Walmart
Walmart is one of the busiest stores on Black Friday, with crowds lining up before Thanksgiving is over. This year, Walmart will not open on Thanksgiving Day. Shoppers can still take advantage of online Walmart Black Friday deals from home after Thanksgiving dinner.
Sam’s Club
Sam’s Club has made it very clear that they are closed on Thanksgiving in their annual holiday hours. They will open up on Black Friday and hold online sale events all weekend long.
Costco
Costco has also made it very clear that stores will be closed up on Thanksgiving every single year in their Warehouse Hours & Holiday Closures. Back in 2014, a Costco spokesperson had said “our employees work especially hard during the holiday season and we simply believe that they deserve the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with their families. Nothing more complicated than that.”
REI
REI is famous for remaining closed on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. This is their seventh year in a row of the #OptOutside movement. But that doesn’t mean they’re skipping November sales altogether. Get REI deals until November 22.
BJ’s Wholesale Club
BJ’s is another store that will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. The store’s holiday hours show that retail locations will remain closed on Thanksgiving and open for Black Friday at 7 A.M. Shop early bird savings now or check back on November 16 for the start of Black Friday savings.
Bed Bath & Beyond
In an announcement of new employee benefits, Bed Bath & Beyond said stores will be closed on Thanksgiving in both the U.S. and Canada. They’ll still have tons of Black Friday deals, though — on top of their already low prices. It’s a great time to snap up home furnishings at a solid price.
