Overactive sympathetic nervous system diet

Your metabolism, temperature, heart activity and digestion are controlled by the sympathetic nervous system or the SNS and parasympathetic nervous system. Ideally, the two systems are balanced, but any one system can become overactive and cause problems. Overactive SNS can increase anxiety and cause other symptoms. Although SNS does not have a specific diet, what you eat and drink can increase or decrease its activity.

According to Dr. Wilson, the symptoms of overactive SNS include excessive sweating, high blood sugar, and blood pressure. High and more frequent bowel movements. You may be inclined to move forward, be aggressive and even militant. You may also be prone to anxiety, irritability and stress, or excessive thyroid activity.
