Continued diarrhea without food intake

According to the Cleveland Clinic, diarrhoea causes more work and school days than health problems other than the common cold. This common disease usually disappears on its own, and fasting does not help resolve it faster. In fact, fasting during a diarrhea can be counterproductive. Regardless of food intake, diarrhea that does not improve for two or more days is worth seeing a doctor.

Duration

Viral diarrhea caused by rotavirus and Norovirus usually takes three to seven days to resolve. Bacterial diarrhea, such as bacterial diarrhea caused by E. coli infection, may begin within 8 days of eating contaminated food and resolve rapidly or slowly. Diarrhea caused by parasites, food sensitive or allergic, irritable bowel syndrome intestinal diseases and drugs may be intermittent or persistent, often requiring medication to improve. If the diarrhea improves within two days and is not accompanied by other symptoms, there is no need to determine the cause.

Food

You may think that avoiding food will help you recover from diarrhea faster, but this is only partially correct. It is wise to avoid foods that contain high sugar, fat and fiber, all of which can make diarrhea worse. Dairy products and caffeinated beverages also stimulate the inflamed digestive tract. However, fasting slows recovery, as the cells that make up the inner layer of the intestine need food to replenish themselves. If your stomach is uncomfortable, avoid hours of food, but like eating a small amount of mild food because you feel it can help your digestive tract heal. Bananas, soups and simple starches such as potatoes and rice are good choices. The National Institutes of Health's MedlinePlus service department recommends that you eat some salt-containing foods such as pretzels and soups because diarrhea can consume blood sodium levels.

Beverages

Drinking plenty of water during diarrhea is essential because dehydration is a common and dangerous side effect. Regular drinking water, juices and sports drinks can prevent dehydration. MedlinePlus recommends using 8 to 10 cups of fluid per day and at least one drink after each diarrhea. Desalination juice is an ideal beverage because it contains the potassium needed by the body to maintain proper body fluid balance.

Considerations

If diarrhea lasts longer than two days and there is no improvement,Or you have a high fever, pain or feces filled with blood, tar or mucus, please consult a health care provider. Dehydration requires urgent medical care. Signs of severe dehydration include dry skin, dry mouth, dizziness, fatigue and dark urine. If the skin is depressed and does not rebound immediately, it will also be dehydrated on the skin (eg on the calf).
