Does eating popcorn cause gallbladder attacks?

The gallbladder is an organ located near the liver. It acts as a storage center for bile, a liquid that helps digest fat. The main cause of gallbladder problems is the prevention of bile release. In most cases, the blockage is caused by gallstones. When a blockage occurs, it is called a gallbladder attack. Some foods can cause gallbladder attacks, while other foods such as popcorn can help reduce the number of episodes.

Gallbladder is pear-shaped, located near the liver. It stores the bile necessary to help digest fat. Bile is made from water, cholesterol, bile salts and other types of chemicals. Bile occasionally forms stones that prevent bile from leaving the gallbladder. This can be very painful. Pain may occur between the abdomen or the shoulder blades. Gallstones can cause nausea, fever, chills and vomiting. If you have any symptoms, you should consult medical care.

Reducing gallbladder attacks

There are many ways to reduce the frequency and severity of gallbladder attacks. Losing weight and eating the right food have proven to be beneficial. High-fat foods such as fried chicken, onion rings, French fries, and foods that contain a lot of butter can cause gallbladder attacks. To avoid seizures, you should target popcorn with high fiber content such as cereals, nuts, vegetables and air.

There are many different types of popcorn. The type you choose can increase or inhibit the onset of gallbladder. Foods with high fiber content, such as ordinary popcorn with air explosions, can help the digestive system and reduce the frequency of gallbladder attacks. However, adding butter to the popcorn, cheese and other high-fat products actually increases the severity and frequency of the attack.
