Protein drink without sugar soy and aspartame

Protein drinks can replace a meal to help you eat healthier or lose weight. Although ready-to-drink milkshakes are convenient, they usually contain added sugar or sugar substitutes such as aspartame. Many protein drinks also contain soy protein. By making your own protein drink, you can control ingredients and use protein sources other than soy.

Aspartame Identification

Aspartame is a common artificial sweetener, usually with Equal Or the NutraSweet brand packaging. According to the American Cancer Association, manufacturers make aspartame by combining two amino acids. Because aspartame is about 200 times sweeter than regular sugar, it requires less sweeteners. This reduces the calorie content of foods and beverages. Although aspartame has been linked to various health conditions, including cancer, no studies have shown that high doses of sweeteners can cause any health problems.

Whey Protein

Whey is one of the two major proteins found in milk. Whey protein is a collection of individual proteins isolated from whey. The Dairy Board reports that whey protein is a complete protein containing all essential amino acids. Whey protein can help increase the rate at which the body produces muscle mass, which is why bodybuilders often add whey protein to their diet. Whey protein can be used as a supplement. It is sold as a beverage mix or powder that you can add to foods and beverages. You can buy flavored or odorless whey protein powder.

Other Proteins

Although many people use whey protein, there are other types of protein powders depending on your taste. Casein is a slowly digested protein that is also present in milk and has a stronger taste than whey protein. Wheat protein is a substitute for milk and egg protein. It is free of lactose and cholesterol. Proteins contain high levels of essential amino acids that can be added to protein drinks. Other types of proteins you can use in protein drinks include goat milk protein, pea protein and whole milk protein, all of which are sold in powder form.

Homemade Protein Drink

contains a small amount of ingredients and a blender, you can make your own protein drink at hom, that is, mix whey protein powder and skim milk in a blender. Add vegetables and add sugar-free flavors and nutrients; good choices include spinach, beets and kale. Herbs such as coriander and basil also contain no sugar. If you prefer a sweeter protein drink, add another artificial sweetener, such as Splenda, without aspartame. Mix until the protein drink is smooth and creamy.
